Allerton Bywater Millennium Village

Allen Tod played a key role within a consortium led by Daniel Libeskind to develop a masterplan for a 'Millennium Community' in and around a mining village close to Leeds.

The masterplan offered innovative ideas for building form and urban design and challenged many attitudes about how we structure our communities.

In addition to co-ordinating the various teams within the consortium, Allen Tod held a number of consultative exercises with the local community based on Estate Action Work. During this process we were able to provide the reassurance required by the local community that we would be working with them to produce a sustainable village which would take them into the 21st Century.
