Boroughbridge Maltings

The Maltings, listed Grade 2 by English Heritage, is believed to have been re-built for Warwick & CO's Anchor Brewery in 1856. It was in use for the next century or so, with very few alterations until the mid 20th century when it became disused.

Since then it has passed through several ownerships, and
proposed uses, without any work being carried out. Following a fire in the mid '90's its rate of dereliction has increased. However, the present owner is determined to save the building, which represents an important landmark, and Allen Tod has now developed proposal
s for a residential conversion.

The scheme solves the problems of restricted headroom often found in maltings. It celebrates the existing form of the building with carefully and elegantly designed
alterations including balconies, essential to attract the buyers for whom the scheme is designed.
