Bradford Design Exchange
In 1989 Allen Tod developed the concept of a Design Exchange, which
consisted of studios, offices and workspaces for designers and artists,
together with high quality conference space, galleries and a cafe
bar.
We took the idea to Bradford Metropolitan Council, together with suggested
buildings and the concept was warmly received.
Allen Tod altered, refurbished and linked three adjacent Grade 2 listed
buildings in the historically important area of Little Germany and
designed the interiors and a selection of furniture for the project.
The building has successfully attracted design businesses and is regularly
used for conferences, training and Design Council exhibitions.
The project received a Civic
Trust Award.
