Canalside East Mill, Huddersfield

Allen Tod was chosen by the University of Huddersfield to work with Jarvis Construction on the redevelopment and extension of a Grade II listed mill on the canal adjacent to the University precinct for the Department of Architecture and School of Engineering.

The existing mill was refurbished to provide studio space, teaching rooms, computer laboratories and staff accommodation. The new extension houses communal facilities and a 120 seat lecture theatre.

The project took 15 months from appointment to completion.
